Andres Otero Sr.
The Founder

Architect Andres Otero is a Puerto Rico & Nebraska-registered architect with 44 years of experience. For the past 40 years, he has led diverse architectural projects ranging from commercial centers, health care and institutional projects. At Architechnika, Inc., Mr. Otero has also serviced pharmaceutical companies and developed master plans for government and institutional clients. He has been involved from the start to the end in a great variety of projects in all stages of planning, design, supervision and development. During his career he has worked with clients such as University of PR, Travenol Laboratories, Inc., Gould Statham Instruments, Inc., General Electric Appliances, Federal Land Bank, Esso Standard Oil, Co., Texaco Puerto Rico, Inc., The Shell Company (Puerto Rico) Ltd , K-mart, Builders Square and Pace are under his profile. The Muncipalities of Quebradillas, Bayamón, Vega Baja, Quebradillas, and Aguada have also been part of his clients. Other clients from the private sector include Decora Store & Warehouse Building, Plaza del Parque Shopping Center, Pace Membership Warehouse Building, Builders’ Square Building, Bible Society, Grande Super Markets. Mr. Otero holds a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Sciences and Masters in Architecture from the University of Puerto Rico’s School of Architecture. He also had several architectural articles published and is a current member of the Board of Directors of Sociedades Biblícas de P.R. Inc., as well as former president of Servicios Técnicos y Desarrollos, Inc., an architectural, engineering and development company which designed and served as direct associate to developers on more than 2, 700 dwellings units of social interest through the Island. He was also in charge during a period of 20 years for the architectural conversion programs of more than 350 service gas stations in the Island for Multinational Companies as Esso Standard Oil Co,, The Shell Company(Puerto Rico), Ltd. ,Texaco Puerto Rico, Inc. and Gulf Petroleum, SA.

The Innovator

Architect Andres Otero Jr. formally joined Servicios Tecnicos y Desarrollos Inc in 1999. For the past 21 years, he has been the innovating life force behind the firm co-founded with his father. During his educational career he quickly developed a passion and drive for design in 3D platforms and began integrating his new skill set into the office workflow, creating 3D renderings and pushing the envelope of the design methodology which had been the firms MO for its first 2 decades. Soon after joining the firm he continued his education joining the Computer Animation Masters Program @ IFAC MIA, and subsequently completing certificate programs in Real Estate Development @ Bortech Institute and Project Management @ PMR Resourses Institute. He is currently a Licensed Real Estate Broker and holds an MBA in Architecture from Tulane University. After co- founding Architechnika, Inc. in 2009, Mr. Otero Jr. introduced BIM to the firm and has been using Revit, 3D Studio Max and Autocad as his main tools for construction document production. As a developer, Mr Otero Jr. led 3 luxury condominiums with 110 units and an estimated value of over $90mm through the complete design, permitting and pre-sales before the market turned in 2009. He has served as the main architectural consultant for a various hospitality developers during the last decade. He has also served as the main special projects & architectural branding consultant for Mendez & Co./Heineken Caribbean as well as construction manager from 2003-2016. His body of work includes over 100 architectural projects and has been an active construction manager for the last 10 years.

Luis I. Tua
The Technician

Engineer Luis I. Tua has been the core of all of production our firm has done in its various iterations for the last 40 years. He began his career as a draftsman @ Otero Ramos Arquitectos in 1980 as our first line man. He quickly demonstrated an immense passion and capacity for the technical aspects of construction document development and has grown and evolved with us throughout 4 decades, overseeing all aspects of the firm. He has been in charge of the development construction documents of over 300 projects and has been in charge permitting, project supervision and engineering design for much of his career. In the early 90’s he decided to pursue his passion for engineering and obtained his degree in Civil Engineering from the Polythecnic University of PR. He is fluent in Autocad and Revit, now in charge of training the new generation of young architects and engineers which have joined our ranks to maintain the tradition which has flowed through our firms lifeline for years to come.
